Launched in December 2025, Build Peace sets out how Cord works with communities to address the root causes of conflict and injustice. It explains our priorities, our values, and how we support people to build lasting peace.
The devastating impact of conflict continues to be felt across the world, particularly among the poorest and most vulnerable communities. Its many complex causes include greed, power, identity and inequality. Sadly, the need for peaceful solutions far exceeds the resources available to support them. Solutions are not easy or simple, but they are vital. At their core lie relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
It is clear we need to Build Peace.
This strategic plan highlights the decisions undertaken by Cord to address these challenges. They build on what we learned from our previous strategy.
Cord’s commitment to building peace through developing and transforming relationships remains the driving force behind everything we do. It is a vital part of the answer to the challenges we see. This is why our strategy is titled Build Peace. It not only answers the question, ‘What does Cord do?’, but also defines the focus of our work in response to the realities we observe in the world.
