In Laos, the economy is built on agriculture and most of the population is involved in farming. Despite efforts to reduce poverty, there are still huge differences between urban and rural areas. Rural communities face deep challenges. Small-scale farming brings little income, and changing weather patterns caused by climate change make life even harder.
